I love my city and my state. Seeing the devastation Harvey has brought us has been life-changing in so many ways. I've seen pain and beauty through it all as the Lord has used even this for His Glory and our good. Some verses that have been very precious to me during this time: Romans 12:15; Psalm 29:11; Romans 8:28; 2 Corinthians 1:3-5. It's been humbling to see people who have lost it all praising the Lord through their tears and tell me things like "it was just stuff." I know with Christ, we can get through anything:

"Who will separate us from the love of Christ? Will tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? 36 Just as it is written,“For Your sake we are being put to death all day long; We were considered as sheep to be slaughtered.” But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord" (Romans 8:35-39)
